Navan Races Ladies Day 2011

November, Navan Racecourse held a competition for best dressed lady at ladies day. The judges on the day were tv presenter Sybil Mulcahy, Mrs.Harper's boutique owner Debbie Harper & manager of Navan Racecourse Joanna McGarry. Their was many beautiful dressed ladies on the day who came from as far as Co.Clare. But the winner on the day was a local woman who was elegantly dressed in beige, teamed with eye catching red shoes & bag.

Judge Debbie Harper, wore a hat I designed & made especially to match her navy wool coat. Her coat which is available form Mrs. Harper's boutique, was edged in red & white piping. I created a matching navy sinamay hat which I edged in red & white felt stripes. I added some silver stars whih gave it a very american feel to it...stars & stripes. She wore the coat with a red dress and navy tights.

It was an enjoyable day for all but unfortunitly I had no winners but maybe next time :)

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone, wishing u all the best for a happy & successful 2012.

After taking down the christmas tree & decorations...how the house looks so bare. But it's time to get back to normal and do some work. And I think a big clean up of my studio is well needed...and maybe a visit to Ikea for some new storage.

Being busy over Christmas working on accessories for a New Year's Eve wedding. Congratulations to both Tara & Gordan on their wedding....wishing them both every happiness for the future. Both their mum's paid me a visit before Christmas, to order some accessories. It was a pleasure designing & making for both ladies who went away happy with their accessories. Here are some pics of the jewellery & fascinators I made for both of them. Looking forward to seeing some photos of the big day. Tara wore a beautiful dress by Frilly Frock Boutique and looked stunning.

Teltown Fashion Show

Here are some photos I took at The Teltown House fashion show of a few of the models on the night including Renee, owner of Teltown House & Elizabeth Addison of Glebe House. They are all wearing vintage clothes from Petticoats & Petite Point shop, Oldcastle, Co. Meath with some of my hats I designed & made.

Teltown House Fashion Show

Last Friday I was invited to have a stand at Teltown House Fashion Show. The show was been held by neighbours Renee & Bartley Clarke owners of Teltown House B & B, Teltown, Navan.

Renee was asked by her friend Helen if she would be interested in holding a fashion show in the house to raise money for cancer research, a very worthy cause. The clothes were provided by Bernie of Petticoats & Petite Point vintage clothing shop Oldcastle, Co. Meath. She also had a stand on the night showing some vintage accessories such as bags & jewellery.

It was an enjoyable evening for all the ladies who attended the show. Everyone was well looked after by all those who were helping out at the show. There was plenty of refreshments provided such as cupcakes, cakes & sandwiches aswell as tea & a glass or two of wine, all provided by some generous people.

Sosad Fashion Show Oct 2011

The latest show I showed some of my pieces in, was The Sosad Charity Show(save our sons & daughters) which help and advice against suicide. It also helps support those bereaved by suicide. They do great work and have many local centres based in Drogheda, Dundalk, Navan, Cavan & Dunboyne to name a few. The organisation was set up by Peter Moroney after a personal experience when suicide affected his family after the death of his son. The charity do as much work as they can to prevent the same tragic experience affecting others. The service is free to anyone. Visit their website at www.sosadireland.ie

The show was held in The Westcourt Hotel in Drogheda on the 27th of Oct. It was hosted by Irish rugby player Shane Horgan, who is involved in the charity aswell as model Emma English. The showed was organised by her sister, stylist Amanda Kevlin and produced by Couler Productions, run by Emma and her Husband James English.
